Senior Consulting Manager
Overview
As a Senior Consulting Manager at ViTL Solutions, you will take on a leadership role in serving our clients, lead complex project, program, and portfolio initiatives, maturing and optimizing Enterprise Program Management Offices, and executing post-merger integration and value creation initiatives. You have a strong background in mergers & acquisitions and will support clients across a wide range of industries. You possess a deep understanding of program and portfolio governance and methodology approaches. In addition to client service delivery, you will be an integral part of our team that helps shape our firm culture through strategy, business development, recruiting, team building, and practice development.
Key Responsibilities
- Complex, highly visible project and program management, portfolio leadership, building/optimizing Project Management Offices, and leading Integration/Separation Management Offices and Post Merger Integration initiatives.
- May be responsible for managing a program with multiple workstreams and workstream leaders; Will often have a team reporting to you in client initiatives.
- Establish core portfolio management processes and integrated roadmaps.
- Articulate the business value of portfolios and programs by identifying and tracking Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).
- Assess and optimize project and/or program management processes.
- Coordinate day-to-day delivery efforts with initiative and business leaders.
- Manage and grow client accounts through excellent delivery oversight and building trusted relationships.
- Develop and lead team members through sharing knowledge, providing feedback, coaching, and mentoring.
- Demonstrate personal effectiveness and organizational agility. Build and maintain strong relationships internally, with customers and with external networks, and demonstrate a passion for and commitment to the success of our customers by putting their interests first.
- Proactively looks for personal and career development opportunities and helps others to see opportunities.
- Takes on account management responsibilities and oversees delivery quality and account growth at anchor accounts.
- Oversees a component of internal operations and/or a strategic initiative.
- Participate in business development activities to help grow ViTL’s book of business.
- Act as a steward of the organization by thinking like an owner and acting in the organization’s best interests.
Qualifications
- 8-15 years of experience in program/portfolio management, PMO operations, and merger/acquisition scenarios.
- Clear understanding and experience in program and portfolio governance and methodology approaches (including but not limited to PMBOK, waterfall, iterative, Agile — Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe).
- Experience with PPM tools such as MS Project and Smartsheet.
- Ability to communicate clearly and present to senior leadership levels.
- Ability to negotiate, persuade, and influence others, and manage conflict to productive conclusion.
- Prior consulting experience from either a large/strategic consultancy or internal corporate project management function is preferred.
- Experience working in multiple industries and business areas.
- Must be flexible with a high tolerance for uncertainty and ambiguity.
- Experience with technology functions, such as system implementations, data analysis and migrations, is preferred.
- Ability to establish immediate credibility with clients and work in a collaborative team environment.
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage client accounts.
